Message I think one of the main reasons many here don't like many of the trends you are talking about is that it cheapens the car. The point I think you are missing that TriniTT is trying to make is that when the most prevalent examples of these trends are pictures of civics, miatas, golfs, etc. It shows that you are emulating a trend that a lesser class of cars (and by proxy, owners) tend to gravitate towards. It if funny to me that many younger owners (not necessarily you) tend to buy these cars because they are they want a car in a similar class as the Supras, RX-7's, NSX's and such but can afford a Z32 due to the much higher sales volumes of the car. Then they bring them down in class with a lot of these trends and modifications. Do you see any of the above mentioned cars dumped to the ground to the level in which the car is damaged just by driving it, ridiculous hell flush wheel fitment, or janky drift car style with the regularity of the Z32? No, because they haven't fallen in value enough for the kids with the civic budgets to get their hands on them. So when you propose style modifications which are seen amongst lesser caliber cars you shouldn't be surprised when enthusiast who hold the Z32 in such high regard don't jump onboard.

That being said, having spare hoods means it is easily reversible and thus relatively harmless, but just take time to realize why you get the reactions you do and not just dismiss them as haters.
